Spellbook Design and Construction / Jokhari Beastmaster Buddy build
« on: November 22, 2017, 03:55:29 PM »
I'm working on trying to run a Johkari BM buddy build.  Every time I have tried to run this build, I don't end up doing well.  I am looking for input on what some of you would put into this type of build.  When I get my current incarnation of the book paired down to 120, I'll post it up, but any suggestions you think I should make sure I have in it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Spellbook Design and Construction / Wizard Build help
« on: January 05, 2014, 06:41:25 PM »
I'd like a little help with my wizard build.  I didn't want to do fire because a lot of my friends here are playing fire wizards.  I'm not completely sold on the lightning but I don't know what to put in its place.

Wizard

Equipment:
Lightning Ring
Arcane Ring
Storm Drake Hide
Staff of the Arcanum
Elemental Wand x2
Moonglow Amulet
Elemental Cloak
Suppression Cloak

Conjuration:
Wizard Tower x2
Mana Crystal x3
Mana Siphon
Mana Prism

Creatures:
Screech Harpy
Mana Leech
Gargoyle Sentry x2
Darkfenne Hydra
Gorgon Archer

Enchantment:
Teleport Trap x2
Armor Ward x2
Chains of Agony x2
Nullify x3
Circle of Lightning
Reverse Magic x2
Block x2

Incantation:
Dispel x2
Dissolve x2
Teleport x2
Steal Enchantment x2
Drain Power x2

Attack:
Chain Lightning x2
Arc Lightning x4
Lightning Bolt x3
Thunderbolt
Electrify
Jet Stream x2
Hurl Bolder

Turn 1:
Lightning Ring
Mana Crystal

Anything after turn 1 is up in the air.  I like the idea of this wizard, I just haven't figured out how to play him right yet.  I always seem to be reacting to my opponent instead of being on the action.

Has anyone played a deck like this with success and can you give me any pointers to playing it?  Also does anyone have any ideas for tweaking the deck to make it work more consistently?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I would like opinions on this build.  I can do fairly well with it, but I don't seem to be winning a lot of matches.

Male Beastmaster (Straywood Forest)

Equipment:
Ring of Beasts
Mage Wand
Leather Gloves
Bearskin
Regrowth Belt
Staff of Beasts

Creatures:
Bitterwood Fox x2
Feral Bobcat x2
Emerald Tegu x2
Thunderift Falcon x2
Spitting Raptor x3
Darkfenne Bat x3
Mountain Gorilla
Galador
Steelclaw Grizzly

Enchantments:
Rhino Hide x2
Cobra Reflexes x2
Bull Endurance x2
Cheetah Speed x2
Eagle Wings x2
Bear Strength x2
Harmonize x2
Agony x2
Regrowth
Block
Nullify

Incantation:
Dispel x2
Dissolve x2
Knockdown x2
Sleep x2
Shift Enchantment x2
Call of the Wild x2
Battle Fury x2

Conjuration:
Mana Flower x3
Lair
Tanglevine x3

Attack:
Jet Stream x2

Turn 1:
Ring of Beasts
Mana Flower or Harmonize

Turn 2:
Steelclaw Grizzly (pet)

Turn 3:
enchant the steelclaw
mana flower

I have tried doing this where I'm putting out the Tegu's on turn 2 with the Darkfenne Bat's coming out soon after (putting a lot of rot on the board), but it isn't quite working right.  It was recently tweaked to add in the raptors and the second knockdown and sleep (so I haven't tried those yet).

All opinions are welcome.  Thank you in advance for any thoughts you can provide.
