Spells / Re: Jet Stream

I can go with that! Sounds realy good to me!
To devide the whole order of events in little pieces and so looking at one after the other, seems a good way! After all, Jet Stream stays a "flying killer" that way...  B)

But than it's impossible to bash a creature into a wall, because there is always an alternative direction than the wall... No matter how you Jet Stream, the creature can always be pushed farther away...

I don't think that you have to take the straight move! It says: in ANY direction away from the caster! If there's a wall... bad luck  :P
Otherwise you could never bash a creature that way, because there will always be "an other possible direction" that brings it farther away...
Hmm, but you're right, some clarification would be nice here!  :)

Spells / Jet Stream
« on: January 05, 2013, 05:03:25 AM »
We've played a game yesterday and one question came up:
What if my mage is standing in one corner of the board, and an enemy flying creature right in front of him, one zone away, next to an arena wall! If i jet stream this creature, and successfuly pushing it, i have the option to chose the direction of the push? With the only restriction, that the pushed creature must be farther away from my mage after the push, than it was just before the push? Is it than possible, to chose the wall as direction of my choice? If yes, with a Hawkeye i will do 8 (!!) dice of damage for 4 mana...

Alternative Play / Career Mode
« on: December 25, 2012, 06:13:50 AM »
An idea for a carrer mode will be, to halve the starting spellbook points from 120 to 60 and reduce the total life points by ten!
I have tried it, and the mages are very limited to their basic tactics, this way! But this was okay!
After each game, the winner receives a fixed amount of spellbook points, a little more than the Loser!
Lets say, 20 points for the winner and 17 points for the Loser! So balancing is preserved and no one can outgrow the other one! Also everyone gets 2 more total life points, after each game!
The distinctiveness is, that every destroyed card, stays destroyed! So if one creature dies in the arena, it's gone from your book for further games!! If you want to have it in your book again you must spend the points to add it.
If it's not possible to make progress with the mage this way, maybe the reward must be higher!

Tell me what you think about that!

Merry Christmas everyone!  :P

Thank you for the great reply!

Hmm, so what you're saying is, adding Creatures to my book is recommended?
I liked the idea of playing without, but it seems rather impossible!
Maybe i should try the Gate to Voltari, as you said!
The game before i cornered the beastmasters lair with two walls of fire, and locked up his creatures that way! That was pretty cool :) Should try this on the Princess temple...
So enhance mana first, playing mana Crystal and Moonglow A. with harmonize, than the Gate and than rushing forward bashing the spawning temple to dust... :) ignoring her temple of light and hoping some of my creature from my Gate will handle it later... :)

Spells / Jinx
« on: December 20, 2012, 08:26:36 AM »
Question:
What if i have a thunderbold (or so) attached to a staff/wand and get jinxed after that?
Does the Jinx force me to take back my attachment to my spellbook, when i try to quick cast the attack from the staff/wand?

Thanks :)

I also played the wizard against a Priestes, and i realy got screwed up, 5 (!!) times in a row!!!
I tried different tactics, but always without any creatures in my Book!
There was always this turningpoint in the game when everything tipped over!
I tried to limit her mana with Siphon, Mordoks Obelisk and Supression Orb, which are all quite costly.
In this time a damaged her with Lightningbolts and such things, but after some time i was overrun by a hord of knights and angels! :(
The tempel combo is realy brutal!! Shot me with Tempel of Light and summoned and healed with the other ones!
I must say my opponent playes the Priestes like a Warlock, super aggresiv, marching forward not wasting a thought on getting damage! But this realy worked out quite well, fife out of fife times......
Is the only way to deal with her to get rid of her spawning tempel and the clerics?
Meanwhile it's very frustrating! :(

our you could play a decoy and get your two mana back.

Hedge

But does this realy work?
Nullify says, countered enchantment is not revealed! (If i remember correctly)
But when Decoy is not revealed, it is not destroyed (destroy, when revealed), and if it's not destroyed you don't get the mana...
Except, countered is the same as destroyed...

General Questions / Re: Attacking your own creatures

Yes - and in most scenatios, it is the only option (since your opponent will not do it for you).

But than sleep is one of the must brutal cards in the game!!
A wizard with his familiar can cast a sleep spell every round, almost for free!!
And killing the bird is not easy, if good protected!

I ran into a Priestes, casting my first 2 big wolfs in the game to sleep! Mana loss was more than double than hers! And the game was gone...

I dont like sleep... its to mighty i think! :(

Spells / Decoy
« on: December 02, 2012, 06:52:53 PM »
I have a question about Decoy!

Is it possible to play decoy on an opponent mage to force him to reveal a hidden enchantment AND get 2 mana from it? (so for free!)
For example:
Hidden E. is a Nullify. I play Decoy, he must reveal, I get 2 mana, both cards are off the board..?
But Decoy says, that you gain 2 mana only if it's destroyed! And Nullify says, the spell is counterd!
Is this the same as destroyed?
And if this does not work, for what the heck is Decoy than?
I think fooling your opponent to cast a hellfire trap could not be the only idea of this card?

Thanks a lot! :)
