Spellbook Design and Construction / Malakai's fiery cursing
« on: October 22, 2013, 10:42:00 AM »
I really hate playing the priestess, I don't like playing the priest either. But when I play vs a particular friend I sometimes try some random new (troll) builds. So I decided it was time for me to play the priest as i like him to be, the slow evil bringer of torment  ???

equipment:
- 2x Staff if Asyra
- Dawnbreaker ring
- Elemental cloak
- Dragonscale hauberk
- Eagleclaw boots
- Colossus Belt

Conjurations:
- Deathlock  :o
- 2x Wall of steel
- Wall of fire

Creatures:
- 2x Emerald tegu  8)
- knight of westlock
- royal archer
- 3x goblin builder

Enchantments:
- 2x Healing charm
- 2x ghoul rot  ???
- Cheetah speed
- regrowth
- falcon precision
- 2x Eagle wings
- divine intervention
- rhino hide
- divine might
- hellfire trap  ::)
- divine protection
- block
- chains of agony
- Force crush  ;D
- Circle of fire
- magebane
- nullify

Incantations:
- 2x dispel
- dissolve
- Purify

attacks:
- 2x Pillar of light
- Flameblast

What is basically do with this random build:
turn one: quickcast cheetah speed move 2 to center and cast rhino hide (instant reveal)
turn two: cast emerald tegu and quickcast eagle wings facedown on him
turn three: depends on the opponent but what i basically want to do is to give him as many rot conditions as i can, keeping emerald tegu alive or cast another one. Why did i cast rhino hide on myself instead of equiping me? I want my opponent to dispel as many enchantments as possible, i want him to run out of them. Possibly triggering another one with my first ghoul rot. Using light damage to get as many burn markers on him as possible. I don't mind taking many hits myself. When I think he ran out of dispels i cast (2nd) ghoul rot and (if I'm not to low on health already force crush and magebane on him. By then I'm probably very low on health. Then i cast Dive intervention and go to the farthest corner on the map, wall myself in with Walls of steel and make some goblin builders to keep them up, possibly making a flying royal archer to defend it and putting a deathlock in the zone to deny him healing/regen.

When I tried this build vs my friend we had some really funny moments  :). this actually worked for me. He thought he had me easy. Before divine intervention he was way ahead of me. He still had 24 life and i was on 11. But he didn't saw the ghoul rot/force crush coming (+he had 2 rots and 5 burns  ::)). He still tried to kill me with some creatures, but by the time they reached me i had the walls of steel up and the next turn a flying royal archer. By then he gave up  ;)

Spellbook Design and Construction / any thoughts on my forcemaster deck ?
« on: October 17, 2013, 03:35:44 PM »
Tips/thoughts on my forcemaster deck would be welcome. I'm going to participate in a local tournament and I'm planning to play the forcemaster as i've played her most of all mages, so all help is welcome

equipment:
- 2 dancing simitar (4pts)
- galvitar (3pts)
- Storm drake hide (2pts)
- 2 psi-orb (4pts)
- 2 Force ring (2pts)
- regrowth belt (2pts)
- leather gloves (1pt)
- Defense ring (2pts)
Total: 20pts
I Doubled some of my equipment because it hurt me in my past games when these got dissolved

Conjurations:
- Battle Forge (4pts)
- supression orb (2pts)
- enchanter's Wardstone (2pts)
- Hand of Bim-Shalla (2pts)
Total: 10pts
I really like Bim-Shalla with the forcemaster, I use enchanter's Wardstone as I make a lot of use of my enchantments and I value them high

Creatures:
- Invisible Stalker (5pts)
- 3 Thoughtspore (6pts)
Total: 11pts
Maybe I could cut the Thoughtspores down to 2 but i like to keep a spare for late game. If i play vs a turtler I sometimes us all 3

Enchantments:
- force orb (1pt)
- Force crush (3pts)
- 2 Forcefield (8pts)
- Mind control (6pts)
- 2 Charm (4pts)
- Nullify (2pts)
- Circle of Lightning (4pts)
- Falcon precision (2pts)
- Vampirism (4pts)
- Decoy (1pt)
- Bear strength (2pts)
Total: 37pts
Vampirism combined with Bear strength and Bim-Shalla is a combo i really like. Maybe a damage barrier isn't needed but In some cases i get overrun i like the daze/stun it can trigger. I like to put a decoy on myself early to trigger a seeking dispel.

Incantations:
- Dissolve (2pts)
- 3 Force bash (6pts)
- Heal (4pts)
- Dispel (2pts)
- Mass Sleep (4pts)
- Repulse (1pt)
- Seeking Dispel (2pts)
- 2 Force push (2pts)
- Power strike (1pt)
- Sleep (2pts)
- Force wave (1pt)
- Teleport (4pts)
Total: 31pts
A Thoughtspore with power strike can buff my vampirism/bear strength/Bim-Shalla even more. Teleport is needed when I get tangled etc maybe i'd even need one more.

Attacks:
- Invisible Fist (1pt)
- Jet Stream (2pts)
- 4 Force Hammer (8pts)
Total: 11pts
I really LOVE jet stream on a thoughtspore, the +2 vs flying is really good if my opponent wants to counter me with flying creatures and it has a high chance to push(and daze) creatures I want somewhere else.

Total: 20+10+11+37+31+11= 120pts

All thoughts welcome
