Allright. Thank you.
But what about nonflying creatures? Are they handled like I posted?

I think that you are the controller of the creature when it is mind controlled, and you have to pay the upkeep now.

I would say no, because it is no "regular" spell with the Force trait (printed in the right upper corner). But that's just my opinion...

+3 mana to push through passage attack.
This basically is stating that if you do not pay the extra mana it will cause a bash not a passage attack

Does that mean that the creature suffers a bash (3 dice of unavoidable damage) for hitting the wall, and if you pay an extra 3 mana they are pushed through the wall and receive the passage attack instead?

Yes, you do take the damage.

Allright, then it is official! :)
Thanks Arcanus.

Rules Discussion / Magebane & Dispel
« on: February 28, 2013, 04:35:11 PM »
When I played against a warlock today my mage had Magebane attached.

It reads: Each time this creature casts and resolves a spell, it receives 1 direct damage.

As this is very annoying, I wanted to destroy it with a Dispel. Question: Is the direct damage dealt for the cast Dispel or not? Both triggers are simultaneous, aren't they?

We had exactly that situation when I and a friend of mine played today. I had a hidden Bear Strength and Nullify attached to my beastmaster. He cast a Seeking Dispel and I activated Nullify to counter it and protect that Bear Strength. I think I have to take a closer look on the spell targets in the future...

Nice idea, but I think it's overpowered. Up to 5 dice of direct damage? That's massive...

I'm going to play a match between Warlock and Beastmaster today, and I really don't know if I should play one of these totems. As we are playing with the predesigned spell books (my opponent has only played one apprentice match so far) I know that he has those Darkfenne Bats, and I don't want them to get Piercing or Charge... Difficult choice...

Obviously it is a great option to attach Reverse Attack to your Invisible Stalker. Your opponent will not have many chances to hit him, so he will try to do it whenever he has the opportunity. And when he casts that lightning bolt... BOOM... it hits him right in his own face! :woohoo:

Strategy and Tactics / Re: Actions In Mage Wars
« on: February 28, 2013, 02:13:02 AM »
I think a key factor to win matches is to get as many actions as possible. Either with many, many creatures to simply bash the opponent or the option to cast a whole lot of spells every round with familiars and/or spawnpoints. Having more actions than your opponent is vital, cause you have the initiative and your opponent has to react on what you do...

Also it is important to have many options to react on specific situations. Having two wands with an incantation and an attack spell gives you just more options as you now have 4 spells to choose from in your action phase. And we all know how annoying a teleport spell is on a wizard's mage wand... :P

Mages / Re: Necromancer balance
« on: February 27, 2013, 11:51:56 AM »
I can imagine that the necromancer has only few creatures by himself. Maybe some skeletons, zombies or ghouls... But he is able to resurrect the fallen creatures of the enemy mage from the discard pile. Maybe they gain a token that reduces their stats a bit and gives them the nonliving trait. That would be very cool! B)
