Title: Zone Control?
Post by: Check Six on October 28, 2012, 03:46:26 AM
Hi, when do I actually Control a Zone?
This is a precondition for Mana Crystals.

I havent found an explanation in the codex or in the rules.

Anybody can help us?

No - you do not controll a zone.

Mana Crystal refers to controller:
Controller (Rulebook, page 40):
Each spell or object in the game is controlled by a player who cast it.

So, if you summoned Mana Crystal, you controll it (untill it is destroyed).
Sometimes effects chage controller of given spell (ie. Reverse Magic) but it has to be stated in a card tekst - otherwise controller do not change.

Below is a break down of Mana Crystal.

Zone Exclusive
Many conjurations have a trait called Zone Exclusive. Each zone can only have one Zone Exclusive conjuration at a time (even if those conjurations have different names). You may not cast such a spell that targets a zone that already has a Zone Exclusive conjuration in it.

Flame Immunity
This object is immune to all attacks, damage, conditions, and effects of the specified damage type, including critical damage and direct damage. Cannot be targeted or affected by spells of the specified type.

Controller gains Channeling +1.
Modifies a creature’s Channeling attribute by +1. Modifies only existing Channeling, it has no effect an object without a Channeling attribute.

Nothing in the first set is based off controlling a zone. I hope that helps

Because "controlling a zone" isn't something that actually exists in this game. <- further clarification
