Bloodwave Warlord - A German Approach
« on: September 24, 2014, 03:13:30 AM »
Hello,

this is the first deck I'm posting here. I read alot about the struggles people have with the Bloodwave Warlord and while I'm looking forward to a ground/mass control deck with the Dwarven Warlord, I play only with the German cards so I have to wait a little bit till I can play this deck. So I built a deck with the Bloodwave Warlord and the premise to keep it slow and defensive. Always group your guys around your mage, defend and taunt alot, battle your opponent to the ground. I still have to tweak it, I played only 10-12 games with it, but till now it was pretty successful. So without further ado, here is the decklist. Strategy is double mana flower on 1st turn, then thorg and a nullify/block (depends on your opponent), the rest of the game is simple: slowly approaching the enemy, defending alot and fight back. I really want to put in 2 retaliate (they really are great with shift enchantment) but I don't know what to take out. Maybe the Hand of Bim-Shala because I seldom play it. Maybe one of you guys have an idea.

Question about the Seeking Dispel. Are you using that primarily to take out an enemy Nullify? Cause if so you could use a number of cheap Enchantments or other Incantations for that. Could save you some points.

What we must all remember is no matter the game we were all newbies at one point.

Yes, that's the cause. But you are right, instead of the Seeking Dispel I could play one additional Decoy and the two Retaliate.

Because I only play with German cards I have by now the base set, the spell tomes 1 and 2 and the warlord vs. forcemaster expansion. Else this deck would be quite different.

I would like to play against this warlord. Are you on octgn?
Akiro, I have never prayed to you before. No one will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that one stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Akiro... so grant me strength! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

And I would like to play it against you. But unfortunately I have a Mac and had not the time till now to make it possible to run OCTGN on it.
