Mage Wars Rules Book: Codex:

Controller
Each spell or object in the game is controlled by the player who cast it. The
controller may use and act with that object, and makes all decisions and
choices for that spell or any abilities that object may have.

*You also control all spells your spawnpoints and families cast.

The priestess/priest is a great matchup for the necro- and I can assure you, she may have some advantages, but never does she have it easy.

Well done as always.

I can agree- the new options for any type of mage/build even extending into the archetypes is just staggering, and I think we have a good idea on where the meta is going.

I know that people are going to see these new powerful mages and look for a way to deal with them, both using them, and fighting them...and its going to be interesting to see what different way people come up with to handle them.

I ofcourse know the best way of dealing with the druid- and that is smashing pumpkins!
(Seriously though....you know that song is going to be stuck in my head for like a week.)

It was nice- I had this "Castle invasion" map, and the folds in the map were the number of zones.

We did the "Place into a square in the zone" version, since, we thought it to be more streamlined, and it just works. If anything, its a great excuse to bust out the minis.

And there was a few cool rules interactions- like climbing over treelines, we ruled that starting an action in water made you lose burn, AND WHAT WAS REALLY FUN- was using push/teleport effects in a different way. (I wished there was a Spiked pit on the map)

I just need to get some more people to try it out...I think I am on to something.

You cant have more then one of the same enchantment on anything.

Rules Book:
There is no limit to the number of different enchantments
that can be on an object, but each object or zone cannot
have more than one enchantment with the same name
attached to it at one time. This includes both hidden and
revealed enchantments. For example, you cannot attach two
Bear Strength spells to the same creature. It is possible that
both players may attach an identical enchantment to the
same target. If an identical enchantment is revealed on the
same target, it is immediately destroyed

anything that has shaggoth eating zombie minions early and every turn is going to be a good build  :P

Meditation amulet works great with the Necro- it just does.

The thing I like most about the necro is with just one build- you can deside to

A. Stay back and summon hoards of creatures

or

B. Go for the throat and keep on the presser.

Other builds can do this sure- but with the Necro its just so fluid using the same build. He is scary if he is aggro- and IMO he is REALLY scary if he has hoards that just rush and surround you late game.

And yeah- this looks like a great opening. For me personally- I stick with only one spawn point and dont often use two on the board at the same time. But I know a few that do, and it works for them.

I also prefer to get out Shaggoth as soon as possible, then have my spawnpoint summon a minion, and have shaggoth devour it ASAP. That leaves my Necro open to cast counters, conjurations, attack spells, ect.

Nicely done OP.
