So this is a book I've been knocking around and I have to say it's probably the most fun book I've run in a long long time. To me the Araxian will always be "Big Sexy" a hard hitting man who can scrap with the best of them. Even using your average Blood Reaper he still has more like than most mages. This book is about vampires, every big man needs a good woman and this book has two:

First off, yes I know that's a lot of out of school enchantments. Bite me(hehehe bite me, vampire book) not a one of them is coming out. It's really easy to get a 7 dice 3 piercing vampire on the field this way. Throw on some armor and maybe even that Regrowth and it's just not going to die soon. I just now added the Cheetah Speed to combo with a vampire's flying ability. I'm a little light on curses and they mainly seem more focused on buffing my guys rather than hurting you. The demons are there to back of the vampires and I still hold a Dark Pact Slayer is the best blood reaper in the game, especially if you put the Regrowth or Vampirism on him. Typically Vampirism goes on me though.
Like I said earlier this book is SOOOOO much fun to play. Just when your opponent is focused on vampires you start blasting with fireballs. They have to armor up a lot to get past all the piercing I can throw down. It's also super easy to slowly buff yourself up until you're a juggernaut as well. I've had decent success with this book, it's lost a grand total of 2 matches out of like 9.

Ill BITE ;D
Rather than 4x Bear Strength and 4x Critical Strike.
What would you say to:
3 x Bear Strength
3 x Critical Strike
1 x Wolfs Fury
1 x Lion Savagery
Necropian Vampiress do rock :)
-
No. 8) I can actually get extra piercing and melee from Demonic Bloodlust. Yeah it makes em Bloodthirsty...but vampires so it fits. 9 dice and 4 piercing is gonna crack open anything you want really. I might try squeezing in some type of double strike. Then Wolf's Fury would be useful.
-
I see a nature mage trying to be a dark mage.
Granted, I'm no dark mage expert or anything, but it looks like your Straywood made a pact with the devil and turned his bears into vampires. Where's the Magebane or the Ghoul Rot? Drain Life? Chains of Agony for the blokes trying to run away from your uber-vampires? I'd swap the Hellstar for a Lash of Fire to synergize better with your Fireshaper Ring.
-
Yeah I figured there would be a call for more curses. It's just not the way I'm going here though some may get worked in. It's actually got more buffs than my Straywood for now. I may put the lash in but the star is just so cheap.
-
I would trade out the heal for some drain spells
-
So the Heal is the biggest "wth" in the book I grant. Initially when I made this book I was 12 points short. So I figured "why not" and put it on a wand. I get on average two to three shots with it before it gets destroyed. Usually I'm able to save a near dead vampire with it and that's the real advantage, it lets me heal my friends at a 0-2 range. It straight up pisses people off when I do it too lol.
I'll grant the books unorthodox but that's the fun part. I could make it look like every other Araxian book out there but frankly I'm having too much fun. I'm bringing it to Origins with me for casual play.
-
I would actually have four Necropian Vampires and four Blood Demons, which would give me some numbers and some real hard hitters. I would have four Rusts, since I can recycle them because they are curses, and limit the other enchantments to two copies each so I can add more curses. I would also want two Mana Crystals and two Tangelvines, and a few more attack spells.
-
Current number of creatures allows me to quickly engage the enemy. 8 hard casts just isn't going to happen.
-
Have you thought about adding the academy vampire? I have tried to use her after times but she feels lack luster, I feel like if she had 1 armor it would have helped a lot.
-
Gator toughness!
-
I still hold a Dark Pact Slayer is the best blood reaper in the game, especially if you put the Regrowth or Vampirism on him.
I would actually put in a vote for Drokarr. For one more mana you get an attack that has a 2/3 chance of locking down an enemy creature for the foreseeable future, preventing it from attacking you and from guarding, prevents any defences from working, all the while the Drokarr just crushes its life out.
And, if you put Bloodthirsty on it, the grapple can mean that the Drokarr is not distracted by other targets.
Really, it is like a creature with a built-in stranglevine.
-
In my experience Drokarr is "Kill on Sight" for my opponents and it never gets a chance to be awesome.
-
I've put the academy vampires in here before but they got taken out faster than was worth the action to cast them. Drokarr is pretty cool but it's like Puddinhead said. People destroy him with an unreasonable hatred.

Isn't that an opportunity for the Animate Dead spell? :)
I can just see an undead Demon as a Blood Reaper. Way cool!
-
The Drokarr draws a lot of hate and I've stopped making it my Bloodreaper for this reason.
Instead, If I use my Drokarr at all, it is usually after summoning Mhegedden and a Bloodreaper'd afflicted demon.
He's a huge threat and gets treated as such. Instead of trying to defend him, you should rather throw more threats at the opponent to make him think twice about which one to deal with first.
Also: I enjoy a good Rise Again on my Drokarr, if he's already standing in a contested zone. Slow doesn't matter much when grapple, as well as your full action attack, demand that you stay in one place anyway. I have also occasionally made the Zombie Drokarr my Bloodreaper, if I'm already armored up and low on damage.
-
You can't bloodreaper a non living creature.
-
You can't bloodreaper a non living creature.
You can't?
The ability simply says "when a friendly, non-legendary demon creature comes into play, you may make it your Bloodreaper." I found nothing more in the rulebook or supplement.
-
Can you quote me the passage that prevents me from Bloodreaping a zombie demon?
-
Hmm. How bout that. I stand corrected! That's cool
