Hi there,

Quick question:
Is burst of thorns a zone attack?

No, it is not. It does not have the Zone Attack symbol. It is on par with level 1 attack spells like Flameblast and Arc Lightning. Burst of Thorns has a greater range than most level 1 attack spells and has piercing +1, but it requires the expenditure of one of your vine markers. Also, a lot of the attack spells are unavoidable, while Burst of Thorns isn't.

Burst of Thorns is unique in that it is not an Attack spell at all.  Its an Incantation which makes a Vine Marker perform an attack.

So, if you are Dazed there is no miss chance roll and no threat of Reverse Attack sending it back in your face.

Can I cast Burst of Thorns only in range 0-2 or can I cast it for exampl 4 zones away from my mage?

It has to target a Vine Marker within 0-2 zones,  then that marker performs the attack on a creature in its own zone.
