General Discussion / Re: Conquest of Kumanjaro - SPOILERS

There are mostly playsets in the box. 2 of's of a few other things, like Wizard's Tower.

I already mixed my stuff in with my other cards, otherwise I would get a better list.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mage_Wars

As long as it keeps selling Bryan will keep coming up with new mages. In fact I know of 4 that are not on that list. :P

so just looking at the list of mages, I noticed its an odd number.  Being that it seems mages are released in pairs we need 1 more mage on that list-

just as an example

druid/necro
illusionist/Sorcerer
Paladin / ?????

who is it?

I think this is better. I think it will be another dark magic user to be pair with a Paladin.

While hilarious, it might be a bit tougher to pull off in game, unless you are doing a semi-solo beastmaster.

I like it though.

Seeking Dispel says, "Destroy target hidden enchantment. Controller of target enchantment cannot reveal the enchantment once Seeking Dispel has been cast." So I would say no.

Shad0w, I really like that. The fact that you change so much around every week must be brutal on your locals.

My locals, so far, still just use my stuff. Our store is having trouble with Alliance...go figure.  I don't feel right about changing the books until these guys get their own copy.

This make me want a Dwarf Warlord.

Spellbook Design and Construction / Re: Nullify
« on: May 20, 2013, 03:26:19 PM »
Get a wand and bind a cheap (mana wise) attack spell to it and blast away, as you said can only have six in a deck. Seeking dispel make a good counter. When you have initiative, hit him with your bound attack spell then a Hurl boulder.

Buff up on your equipment and melee him when you start rolling 6-8 dice, Nullify will be the last card he will have time to play. Then try the Attack Spell/Hurl Boulder combo.

Have a familiar cast spells to trigger the Nullify, then hit him with something good.

The point is, if your opponent is playing Nullify heavily, then counter with a plan to make them useless. It won't take long and you will no longer have 6 of them in either of your books....

I have come to remove nullify from my tourney books as it is too limited and too easy to deal with.

These guys hit it on the head. Especially someone like a Forcemaster who just runs up and pounds your head in, then walks away from your broken body, and coolly says, "Nullify that."

It looks like I will be judging for most of Origins so I will post my tourney build with and without promos. My build can kill on turn 4+  :o

9D + 4D + 9D + 3D
0-50 dmg on turn 4 avg is 25 dmg on an unarmored targe

If you wait till turn 5 you can do
10D + 4D + 10D + 3D
0-54 dmg on turn 5 avg is 27 dmg on an unarmored target
You have to remember this is not a fun build when I get home or if I have time during lunch I will post the build.

Color me intrigued.

Hopefully I'll get to try to play in an event in between running demos.

I know one of the biggest things with this game is, it is not collectible, or supposed to be. Completing play sets makes sense though.

Have you both bought the Core Tome 1 and 2? Between those and the Forcemaster vs. Warlord expansion, I have not run into any issues with the amount of spells I have access to.

There might also be some people willing to help you out.

That was my plan, but what about Travel days? Or is that part of your day off? Granted my travel is only a little more than 3 hours.

And work is being dumb and making me take at least 5 days off in a row, not counting Sat/Sun.

Origins is only 3.5 hours, on a straight shot, on Rt. 70. That is going to be boring.

Do you guys think driving in the night of the 11th would be fine? That way I'll take off the 12th-18th from work. Or should I take off the 11th-17th? Any suggestions?
