You can find the rules to the game here (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5513385/RULES/MAGE%20WARS%20RULES.pdf).
If you have any questions or desire clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask us through the General Rules Questions (http://www.magewars.com/jsite/forum/general-questions) thread!

Great job guys. This rulebook looks very well polished and easily understood. Really one of the better rulebooks I've seen.
-
Am I missing something because I can only get the first 12 pages of the rule book?!?!
**um... nevermind**
-
i actually dont have any questions off the bat, plenty of examples seems like a pretty tight and well explained ruleset as a long time gamer i am very impressed.

Hi,
On page 17 you can read :
"Full Actions
If your creature does not move, you may
choose one of these four actions:"
However there are only 3 actions listed.
I guess the fourth action is "do nothing" ?
-
Eh, where do you see page 17? I only got the first 10 pages or so. Is the full version up somewhere?
* Found out where the rules are, sadly its blocked by the Great Fire Wall of China :( Guess more waiting for me
-
Hi Borg,
Nice catch - there are only 3 possible full actions that a creature may take if it does not move. (on pg 15 of rule book, pg 17 of .pdf)
I'll get this fixed for our online rules document.
Thanks!
-
Thanks for the rules! These are really the best rules I've seen so far. Can't wait to get the actal game into my hands.
-
Hi Dragkin,
Just click on the rule book image for now, or use this link (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5513385/RULES/MAGE%20WARS%20RULES.pdf) to access it.
Sorry for the trouble. Ignore the "Part 1" attachment posted at the bottom of the page - I'll try to get this fixed soon, no doubt it is causing much confusion.
-
Thanks, guys! We put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into the rulebook.
We proofread it SO many times, it's funny that there are still typos! :)
-
yeah but not many and everything is very well presented which is much more important than the typos. (unless they are extremly glairing and rule changeing typos which there are none that i can see)
-
Awesome! Thanks for the link 1unatic - downloading and checking out in a little bit...
-
Battle Example Brogan vs Hydra :
"Step 2: Avoid Attack
Thankfully, the Hydra has no defenses, so nothing happens in this step."
Even if the Hydra had a defense it would still be useless since Brogan's attack is "unavoidable", correct ?

Correct! :)

It took several versions before play testers and design team came up with the version that you are looking at. It was worth all the work we put in.
I think my play test group read over it at least 3-4 times each. But when we finally got done we were hoping we got a majority of the typos.
BTW if you missed the rules link CLICK HERE (http://magewars.com/jsite/forum/rules-discussion/451-where-are-rules-posted)
