What's an efficient use for "My life for Ner'Zhul" and is it mana efficient to summon them?

I direct your attention to this thread over here. http://forum.arcanewonders.com/index.php?topic=15371.msg49503#msg49503

Basically, you use them as a catalyst to generate more icthellids.

Additionally, you could go for the route of Altar of Skulls, but then you'd better be able to keep them alive long enough to power up the altar.  When they eventually do die you should have a [mwcard=DNC11]Ravenous Ghoul[/mwcard] ready to eat them up.

I did that for my last 2 games. I'm just talking about standard general use.

I never hear much about them being played aside from altar of skulls. Were you thinking of necro or warlock? I could see a few of them supporting a couple skeleton knights. For the zombie extra damage, it would be simpler to just make more zombies. If you want to go all sacrificial with them, do an area dot(eg.  idol of pestilence) and that conjuration of zombie-making and zombie them when they get low.
