Title: Box Art vs. Content
Post by: SirAndrew on February 18, 2017, 12:52:21 AM
Maybe I'm crazy, or being a little nitpicky, but has anyone else noticed sometimes creatures or items appear on the boxart that aren't in that particular set?  ???

I noticed mostly with the Thunderdridt Falcon and Staff of Beasts on the Academy box as well as the Griffon on the Arena set. Both times I excitedly searched through the product for those respective cards only to find they appear in a different set. Anyone noticed this with other boxart?

It's not a complaint, I realize it's a very minor detail. It's just more of an observation.

In a lot of cases, I think the art is commissioned before the contents are finalized. Besides, Victorian Griffin still isn't in the game (it's a promo), although Crusader Griffin made an appearance in 2016's Paladin vs Siren.

Another obvious one is swarms of bees on the cover of Druid vs Necromancer.

Now if Mordok's Tome hadn't appeared in Lost Grimoire v1, I think people would have legitimately cried foul.

At least no one has been seen using a Frost spell.

Isn't that [mwcard=MW1C28]Royal Archer[/mwcard], but matching the Paladin colour scheme?

That's what it looks like to me.

I just assume any change of coloration means totally different creature. Changing clothes is for suckers.

They have to change coloration because spectators in the game don't see the action markers. ;)

Well that's a more logical response than I expected lol. Nicely done.
