I have no problem with sharing my books online or with others sharing books.  My view is that the more that is shared about the game the better!  Seeing new strategies and concepts is fascinating and only helps the community build better books.  The constructive criticism for tweaking a book can only be done by posting books in the first place. 

I get that others can see the books and copy ideas but it's no different than watching a match online or spectating a tournament game and seeing all of the cards that are played.  You get the overall idea of the book and what cards are used for the strategy. 

That being said, I am not a advocate of "net decking" where you copy every strategy and card that someone else played for your books.  If you are a mage wars beginner it seems reasonable to do that to get a grasp on what cards work with certain strategies.  But, after that, I believe that you should be of the mindset "This was a cool idea, how can I make this my own using my new knowledge, play style, strategies, etc."?

Ok guys, only 5 more days until tools of the trade is officially up! :D
Thank you everyone for your submissions so far!

If anyone has anymore ideas, please send them in; the areas i seem to be lacking material on are:
dark mages in general, nature mages in general, warlords, priest and priestess.

and just to let you guys know where i am at currently, i have 4,376 *4,516* words in my document for this! Keep the ideas coming and keep your eyes posted for the official post on 1/15/18!

I think she is fantastic in a necromancer. The fact that, in a mirror match, they play undead doesnt matter, the mage is always livong and will trigger vampiric and she can fly over all the skellies amd zombies.  In my necro she usually get swapped for a blood demon, only because its 1 sbp cheaper, no other reason.

Full action only attacks cannot be used to counterstrike. Only quick action attacks.

The only benefit you get is to have a big guard that can take a hit instead of the attack hitting your mage.
I don't have the rules in front of me, but I believe placing a guard only provides the Counterstrike trait to a Quick Melee Attack of that Creature. So the Kraken would still Protect the Zone, but would not receive a Counterstrike when placed on Guard.

Yeah, he can guard but not hit back so he can be used as a guard to soak up hits

How has the Siren done in tournament?   I am curious because I have been having a lot of trouble getting her to work.

To my knowledge no tournament wins with the siren yet. She is super fun to play and with more people playing her and sharing insight i think she will become a force to be feared in tournaments to come

Mage wars feels real, every creature, every attack magic ... have the qualities one would expect from them.

A good example is "Geyser" not only that he is a water attacking spell he can extinguish fire.

Yeah, when i first started playing i thought it was awesome that knight of westlock had lightning +2 because he wears metal armor

I think dropping 2 heals for 2 healing madrigals would be a good choice!
Also acritical strike for your knights would be nice!
A range 2 attack like pillar of light or something else would be good.

Also circle of light! If the fight comes to your mage put it on her.
