Life/Mana limited to stat board max?

In my recent game playing the Priestess my life reached the end of the chart... 41 I think. Had I gone over that would my max life exceed the stat board or are life and/or mana capped by the stat board?

I read a similar question somewhere else... I think on Boardgamegeek.com, the conclusion was that the numbers on the board are not a cap.

Confirmed! There is no limit to the amount of mana, life, etc. that you can take.
