1) Wasnt 6 acid balls too much?
2) Tataree - why was this creature played? Is there some sort of sinister plan i cannot see?
3) Wasnt 4 corrode orchids too much?
4) Was there standard opening or for each opponent different one?

1) Wasnt 6 acid balls too much?
1# So attacks spells did kinda end up being an issue, but I never saw myself using an elemental wand.  I tested it a bit and for 4 points that can be dissolved I could just toss in 4 acid balls.  That were a 1 action tool vs. a 2 action tool of an elemental wand.  Most of my plants and bear already swing for 4 to 5 dice.  It was really a cast and forget spell.  In a re-build I might go with another surging wave or two.

2) Tataree - why was this creature played? Is there some sort of sinister plan i cannot see?
2# Nothing sinister a simple living harmonize with an infinate dodge 3+.  Now maybe your in the mind set that I can just use an unavoidable, but do you really want to move your mage near lashers and devour plants and spend a resource to kill a 1 spellbook point creature...  It also had the built in defense of flying so you needed reach or flying to even swing at he 3+ infi dodge.  In the two games I used him he never died... well one I think he might have to an idol of pestilence.

3) Wasn't 4 corrode orchids too much?
3# No, it is the only spell that can destroy equipment from more than 1 space away.  An it is in addition to any other attack.  You cannot avoid the dissolve so other than paying a hefty premium of 7 mana for a dissolve at any range it is what makes the druid the master of equipment removal.  You can even drop them for just damage purpose in front of another attack.  They are just really good IMO.

4) Was there standard opening or for each opponent different one?
4# I do not believe in standard openings.  I try to do what is best for the match-up based on what I know about the other mages play styles.  I like to make a book that is good against many options because a standard opening can have holes in it.  It really comes down to play testing.
