AStral anchor - not sure if this has been asked or explained already, but does Astral anchor stop any teleporting in that zone, even out of the zone and back into the same zone?

it stops teleporting into the zone.

it stops teleporting out of the zone.

and finally it steps teleporting within the zone (ie. teleport 0 to lose tanglevine or a stuck marker.)

Dont forget creatures like blue gremlin, Grey Wright or spells like Divine intervention, banish or that academy version of banish. I probably missed oné spell. :)

Does the Anchor prevent a creature from getting banished? Per other threads it does not stop the return of the creature into the zone, but does it stop the leaving of the creature via Banish.

Yes, Astral Anchor will stop the creature from being teleported, so it will stop them from leaving via Banish.

Astral Anchor prevents Banish and Exile because they involve teleporting a creature out of the zone (and out of the arena).  However, you can't for instance Banish Sardonyx, then reveal Astral Anchor in that zone just before he returns, leaving him trapped in oblivion for eternity.

To be clear - that's a Teleport of 0 zones, but it still costs 3 mana...
