Sanctum - Conjuration - When your mage is standing in the zone with Sanctum all spell costs are reduced by 1 to a minimum of 1.  While in the zone with Sanctum you may pay X mana as a full action to return any card from your discard pile to your spellbook.

Meditation - Novice spell - Incantation - Cost 2 - Gain mana equal to the amount rolled on 2 attack die.

Mana Sink - Conjuration (Zone Exclusive) - Range 0-2 - Once per round Mana Sink may drain Mana equal to the amount rolled on 2 attack die from any creature or conjuration.

Portal - Conjuration - Portal has a Channeling of 1 or 2 - Portal may teleport any friendly creature.  Cost is 3 mana per zone teleported as the teleport spell.

Disruptive Attack - Enchantment - This creatures attacks gain Mana Drain +1.

Player Feedback and Suggestions / Ideas for Dark Spells

I'm honestly kinda flabbergasted that there's not a dark sword with the Vampiric trait.

I'd love to see a trait for Dark Creatures called Consume which gives the creature +1 attack every time it deals the killing blow to another creature.

Idol of Terror - Conjuration - Zone Exclusive (Possibly Unique)  Enemy Creatures have to roll 7+ on a D12 to enter the zone with Idol of Terror.  I suppose this could also work as a zone enchantment of some kind.

Idol of Fury - All friends creatures in Zone gain Bloodthristy +1.  Likewise, this effect could be an enchantment instead of a conjuration.

Vampiric Frenzy - Zone Enchantment - All friendly creatures in zone gain the Vampiric trait.

Player Feedback and Suggestions / Ideas for Holy spells
« on: December 21, 2014, 03:35:00 PM »
I would love it if there was more variety of angels to summon for holy mages.  It'd be neat to have more summoned units that do things beyond just attack.

For example:

Angel of healing which can heal 2 die damage as a quick action and 3 as a full.
Angel of protection which grants all friendly units in zone Aegis +1.
Angel of serenity which incapacitates target for one round (puts it to sleep.)
Angel of justice grants all friendly units in zone a 1 pt damage barrier OR deals 1 unavoidable damage to all attacking creatures in zone OR grants all friendly units in zone the counterattack ability.
An Archangel which has it's own mana and helps to summon more angels.  Possibly offering an attack bonus to all angels in the same zone.  This is the only one I'd make unique/legendary.

I think it'd also be neat if there were a temple (or an amulet) which expands the range of all holy spells by 1 (except summons, that'd be too powerful and imbalance the game.)

I also had a thought for an enchantment that you could place on your summoned creatures which allows you to target them regardless of range (Bond of Loyaly for a name maybe?.)

General Discussion / 4th Edition Box Set
« on: December 21, 2014, 02:32:51 PM »
I need to get a 2nd Mage Wars core set for 3-4 player games and I'm not sure whether I should snap one up before the 4th edition comes out or not.

I see that the box for the 4th edition box set is going to be 12 x 12 and I'm wondering if the game board is going to be the same size and just folded differently or if it's a different size.  Are there actually new cards in the new set or just different quantities of the current cards with some different artwork?

Also, just a note, I would love it if there was a version of the core set put out specifically for those who are buying a 2nd one with different spell books and differently colored counters so that those don't need to be purchased separately.  I see that there are new spell books in the new set, but it looks like the action counters are all the same colors so even if I wait and get the new boxed set I'll still need to but different colored counters.
