Spells / How to use Feral Bobcats and my birthday wish

Half a centuary passes soooooo fast..  :D

Anyway im working to improve my Beastmaster skills, and i want to make a spellbook with [mwcard=MW1C14]Feral Bobcat[/mwcard]s

I need a way to move these guys around so i can make use of their charge bonus.

First dear Arcane Wonders my birthday wish is a "Call of the Wind" spell just like [mwcard=MW1I03]Call of the Wild[/mwcard] just replace the Melee+1 with Fast.
Im not saying it should just cost 4 mana like Call of the Wild.

Something like [mwcard=MWSTX1CKI02]Akiro's Battle Cry[/mwcard] or this [mwcard=DNI06]Zombie Frenzy[/mwcard] for my lovely animals would also be very welcome  :)

From anyone else: give me your best ideas on how to use [mwcard=MW1C14]Feral Bobcat[/mwcard]

So i justed started to play with Fire  :)

Trying a Fire Wizard instead of my usual Air Wizard.

In a recent game on OCTGN, we started talking about what i should do vs. Flame Immune creatures and anti-flame spellbooks in general.

Im intrested in general advice, and if you have any relevant links, from earlier post/discussion, id really like if you to post them here.

From my Current spellbook:

I might remove the Lord himself [mwcard=MW1C01]Adramelech, Lord of Fire[/mwcard] but i do want a creature with a good Flame Attack. (my book suffers from the 10 point cost)

If Fire Elemental comes out thats "only" 6 spellpoints, so thats a good possibility.

[mwcard=MW1C16]Flaming Hellion[/mwcard] or [mwcard=MWSTX2FFC06]Goblin Alchemist[/mwcard] unfortunately are not Fire School. So they are not really good options (but i do like them)

I want to burn people, but if they play [mwcard=MW1C01]Adramelech, Lord of Fire[/mwcard] id like not to consede immediately  ;)

Spells / Flaming Hellion in a Wizard spellbook?

It might just be a crasy idea, but im considering including a [mwcard=MW1C16]Flaming Hellion[/mwcard] in my Wizard spellbook.

Pros:
One of the best players in my group likes to play Druid, were im in trouble. A "free" Fire attack each round might be a solution

Several players like to play Necromancer. Im running Gorgon Archer and Poison Gas Cloud - i need somehing to stop a Skeleton/Zombie Horde..

Finally a few players like to play with fire. The Fire heavy Warlocks and Fire Wizard. Flaming Hellion is Flame Immune..

Cons:
cost 6 spellbooks to include, that going to hurt.

So i just got Mordok´s Tome and ill give it a try Next time i play.

Mana cost: 5.  Quick spell. Range 0-2.  Mage. Arcane 1
Legendary * Arcane Mage Only

"Mage may choose one additional spell during the palnning Phase. This gives him an additional spell choise each round (it does not give him an additional spell action)"

Im thinking that [mwcard=MW1I06]Dispel[/mwcard] and [mwcard=MW1I28]Teleport[/mwcard] seems like solid choises for that extra spell.

Any thoughts on this?

I think i might have been revealing some of my enchantments to soon. So can you wait with revealing after the Attack step 3 (roll dice) and before step 4 (Damage Effects) and have the enchantment take effect before the damage/effect are applied? Or do you have to reveal at any other step to effect the events?

So i just got my hand on the promo Card: Staff of Storms  ;D

"Each upkeep Phase place a storm token on Staff of Storms up to a maximum of 4. Whenever you make a wind or lightning attack, during the Roll Dice Step you may remove any number of Storm tokens to roll 1 additional attack die, and gain +1 to the effect die roll, per token removed"

Who is "you"? or rather will this only work for my mage attacks or for all my creatures, equipment and conjurations?

Whenever i go to a boardgameevent i usually bring some of my Mage Wars gear (even when the chances are quite remote for get a game going)

As i don´t have a car, bringing 2 arenas and 8+ spellbooks does become a bit unhandy and heavy. And then im not bringing unused spellcards or apprentice spellbooks..

Im also interested in how you sort and storage the different markers? (and similar like sleeving you Cards)

Im trying to find two smaller boxes (Cigarboxes?) One for damage- , manamarkers, dice and actionmarkers. The other for the rest of the markers which i don´t sort pre- or postgame.

So in the box ill bring a couple of arenas, a ton of markers and rulebooks, expansionrules and try to fit two smaller boxes in there. The spellbooks im carrying in a backpack

Alternative Play / Any suggestions for three player games?

We have had a couple of times when we are three players left and rather that let one sit and watch or plav 1v1v1 "free for all" we tried to let one player play two games at once. However it has proven to taxing for us.

So any ideas that Work well for three players?

2v2 with one player controlling 1 side or

2v1 were the single player is given advantages (free conjurations, two Lord of Fire ready to go, or something like that)

Strategy and Tactics / How important is equipment?

Im considering opening with a double [mwcard=MW1J04]Battle Forge[/mwcard] at turn 1. (not vs. a Warlord)

I might even harmonize both.

The one being used to bring out cheap equipment each round, and the other every 2nd or 3rd round for the more expensive stuff.

Is this a horrible idea?

I guess i could just ask: How important is equipment? (and actions)

This would probably only be relevant for spellbooks with very few or no creatures.

Strategy and Tactics / How to do Dice and Damage calculations?

Mage Wars damage dice:
2 blanks
1 normal hits
1 critical hits
2 normal hits
2 critical hits

So if we roll 4 dice we will roll 4 damage on average (2 normal and 2 critical?)

But if i want to know how big is the chance of rolling 5+ damage.

And how do you make calculations when armor is envolved: like to take down a Mana Crystal (2 armor 6hp)
How likely am i to take it Down in how many rounds with
3 dice attack
4 dice attack
5 dice attack
6 dice attack

Most importantly i want to be able to do rough estimates at the table. Any advice/recomendations?
