Title: Force Plug
Post by: bigfatchef on January 30, 2017, 05:21:09 PM
I would love to have something like that:

Force plug
enchentment, mind-school, subtype: force
cost 2+1 (?)
target: object with channeling

"This object loses and cannot gain its channeling trait as long as force plug is attached to it".

It would be an interesting counter to familiars and spawnpoits, leaving them alive but more cost-intense.
Should be a FM card, and I think force plug is thematically cool ;)

What do you think?

Sounds more like an arcane thing to me. But interesting idea!

Interesting idea but I would change the name. There are undertones that I do not think fit the brand.

[mwcard=MW1J16]Mordok's Obelisk[/mwcard] already does this, sort of. And it's best played by a solo (or single buddy) Mage who isn't going to be affected much him/herself - like the Forcemaster.

Sure, Naiya still channels net +1 while in an aquatic Terrain, and it doesn't affect Conjurations and other spawn points and familiars that channel (like Sectarus and Libro and the Siren's one), but any creatures that pop out of them get taxed, so it penalizes the opposing player in much the same way. There are a few objects that don't get taxed by the Obelisk, like Battle Forge and Construction Yard. But I could imagine an affordable Enchantment that is basically a reverse [mwcard=MW1E20]Harmonize[/mwcard]; would probably need a similar mana cost to Harmonize, too.

There is a very very different meaning if you translate it directly into czech :D

I don't mind the name. But I was thinking in the direction green lantern puts his green finger in the channeling wormhole to prevent it flowing.
Sorry to completely mess up with etherian story here. I don't follow that lore.

Feel free to change the name.

I don't feel mordoks obelisk does the same. But it supports the same goal.

am i the only one who realizes this can target a mage? and that it would basically make the mage lose the ability to gain mana?

Good point ! That should better be impossible!
