This book eschews many traditional defensive necessities (dispel, teleport, armor, etc.) in favor of maintaining a permanent wall of skulls. The idea is that on turn one you build a wall across the board.  If you can trap your opponent in the three zones at their end, great, otherwise cut the board in half.  To keep the wall up, you have otto the engineer, a couple acolytes and dual reassemble mage wands (plus 3 extra wall sections if it comes down.   You maintain air superiority by casting lots of flyers and maiming the wings of any flyers your opponent casts.  You drop 3 wardstones to make your curses sticky, and give serserix wings, then curse your bats and use transfusions to move the curses onto the enemy.  Thoughts?

What do you think?  I'm thinking of a swarm-ish build, and trying to stack as many burns as I can on the opposing mage.
I'm trying to decide if I want to open with Pentagram turn one, or bring out a creature first and cast pentagram when I can start putting the bonus mana on it.
I'm interested in comments regarding both spellbook composition and opening/playstyle ideas.

Player Feedback and Suggestions / Johktari Weapon

I've seen a lot of people saying the JBM needs a quick action ranged weapon.  I suspect the fear is that move-shoot might be OP when it's combined with fast and costs no mana. I've been thinking about this and have a solution of sorts to propose.  It's not a fleshed-out card because I think it would take a fair amount of playtesting to determine the appropriate mana cost/ damage dice/ effects (though I think poison would be flavorful).  Basically what matters is its mechanic.  I'm thinking a crossbow or blowgun idea, nature mage only, that works kind of like a war machine.  It comes into play loaded and becomes unloaded when it's attack is used.  Once per round the mage may pay 2 mana OR spend a quick action to load it.  This could be tracked with a load token (like war machines) or simply a ready marker, since it only has two states (loaded/unloaded).  Basically the idea is it's quick to fire, but she has to either spend time reloading it or infuse it with magical energy to make it "grow" new amunition.  Thoughts?

General Discussion / Playing on OCTGN

So I've had the game for a while, but I'm still a fairly inexperienced player due to the difficulty of finding opponents in my area.  I recently learned about OCTGN, and installed it.  However, when I log on, there are never any open games.  How do I go about finding OCTGN opponents?
