Rules Discussion / Necropian Vampiress and Maim Wings.
« on: January 16, 2014, 01:11:43 PM »
If a vampiress is flying around and someone casts Maim Wings on her, would she still be a legal target for it next round if I just didn't pay to have her flying again? If so would the card go away?

Ok then lets assume she's flying around and someone uses Maim Wings on her. She loses flying yeah but next turn I don't spend the mana to keep the flying going. Is Maim Wings then discarded as she is no longer a legal target for it?

There's a Banish spell that removes a creature for a few turns I think. Kinda expensive to cast though.

Spells / Necropian Vampiress. Is it non-living?

Looking at the card and I don't see the Unliving Trait on her. So if she's alive she'd be susceptible to poisons but also able to be targeted with buffs that require living creatures correct?

Mages / Re: Ok so I went to the Darkside, tried out Warlock

Ah alas my Warlock went down to a Johktari Beast Master today! It was a sweet match against a guy we taught the game to just earlier. But he got me pinned down between Galador(who had Cheet Speed) a Dire Wolf, and that big lion(Mukando?) I'm trying to deal with his legion of critters and his archer lady was just pegging me constantly.

Those Force Hammers are a good idea. Can't wait to see how further testing goes.

That's ok you typed Tarok and I was thinking Goran for some reason. Yeah Tarok and his sky patrol of falcons can pretty much rule the sky.

Setting stuff on fire is fun in every game. Aren't Thourghtspores flying? I've been blasting them with fireballs.

Bout the only things I'd say is the Staff of Beasts isn't as useful at it seems to me. It's nice but limited. Also I might swap out those Darkfenne Bats for some extra Thunderift Falcons if you got them. I love those birds.

Playing against the same folks can be a double edged sword. If you get a large local community it's awesome cause hey plenty of folks to play with. The more people you can play with then the better you can get to a point. However if it's just the same ole gang every week you can start to get in routines, and routines are a bad idea in competitive games. Other than Mage Wars I've been playing Hero Clix for eleven years now. I have found it's vital to keep trying to bring in new blood to that scene just to keep my edge and keep me on my toes.

My advice for breaking out of the walls of group mind is to find a local gaming store if you got one and start teaching random people who come in Mage Wars(it helps if the store has copies in stock they can buy if they like it.) Get some easier to learn mages (Priestess and Beast Master I'm looking at you), and walk folks through some quick games(use the beginner mage rules.) You get more players who will in turn have new ideas for breaking your local crowd out of their comfort zones.

Ohhhh trying to eat another gamers cake, I've seen hands cut off over that at some of these gaming conventions hehehe.

Yeah mine is a week from Wednesday. I got the core Mage Wars game as an early present the other day. Yesterday was actually my girlfriends birthday too so hey good day all around for everyone.

Tempted to keep changing my birthday in my profile so I get cake daily....
