Waterfall Cloak can only remove burns from the Mage.

It removes it form the mage. Also Waterfall Cloak+Chitin Armor+Collossus Belt+Rain Cloud on an Anvil Throne Warlord means you don't take Corrode except on a 12 from Acid Ball.

Altar of Infernia:

Looking through the Codex, this would appear to affect:
- buffs that directly add Melee +X (obviously; typical examples include Bear Strength, Wolf Fury, etc)
- Growth markers
- Rage +X
- Ehren, Enduring Paladin
- Vashalla, Lightning Angel
- Steelclaw Matriarch
- Azurean Genie
- some of the new knights that get Melee +X bonuses for attacking strongest creature, etc
- Hand of Bim-Shallah
- Sacrificial Altar
- Animal Kinship + canine(s)
- "Battle Skill" Mage ability (e.g. Straywood Beastmaster, Arraxian Crown Warlock, Bloodwave Warlord)
- probably many others, but these were the first I thought of

Does not have an effect on:
- Ranged +X (obviously)
- Charge +X (good news for the new Griffin and others)
- Bloodthirsty +X (!! - think Zombie-based Necromancer or Shark-based Siren)
- most melee weapon Equipment (e.g. Arena melee weapons usually roll 4 dice + traits and abilities, rather than having a Melee +X trait, so this is a way to mitigate against Infernia)
- Piercing +X (this is fairly obvious, but just wanted to emphasize that this is a case where you might prefer to have Piercing +X than Melee +X)

Sure... but you've put an awful lot of mana/sbp's into your (very well protected) 2 armor.  ;)

Sure... but you've put an awful lot of mana/sbp's into your (very well protected) 2 armor.  ;)

Do it without the Rain Cloud and it's still -9 on the effect dice :) The clouds just for showing off.

I would highly suggest Critical Strike. It's been a promo for awhile, and I've seen a lot of good use out of it on OCTGN. Acid Ball is great, but if you are looking to deal with armor and not use incantations or attack spells, I would highly suggest Rust, Marked For Death, and Critical Strike.

Agreed Critical Strike is amazing. Don't forget the Vorpal Blade is also in this set. If you need to get up and take care of the problem yourself then Vorpal Blade and Critical Strike give you 5 Piercing which is going to ruin just bout anybodies day.

He's actually right on all these.

Rage (from codex):
Quote
[The creature] gains the Melee +1 trait for each Rage token on it.
Valshalla (text):
Quote
For each Wrath token on her, Valshalla gains Melee +1
Charge +X:
Quote
Creature gains +X attack dice for its very next melee attack [...]
Bloodthirsty +X:
Quote
This creature gains +X attack dice when it makes a melee attack against a Living creature with 1 or more damage.

The wording is crucial. For each Wrath/Rage token the creature gains the Melee +1 trait, but the Altar of Infernia prevent it from doing so.
The bonuses for Bloodthirsty and Charge are not specific traits, the descriptions in the codex clearly say that they just add X dice to the attack, which is similar to giving them Melee +X but not quite the same thing.

All this makes Demonic Bloodlust an interesting card. A Warlock can just stick some in his deck for cheap and buff his own creatures, while denying that possibility to the opponent with the Altar.

Alter of Infernia also affects:
- Straywood Beastmaster's "Pet" (no general Melee +1 nor additional Melee +1 when in-zone)
- Bloodwave Warlord's "Veterans" AND command order "On Guard!" (although doesn't affect "Release Volley!" = Ranged +1, or "To Battle!" = Charge +1)
- Malakai Priest's "Holy Avenger" (no Melee +2 for you!)
- Johktari Beastmaster's "Wounded Prey" (no Melee +1 against that creature)
- "Siren's Call" ability doesn't give friendly creature Melee +2
- Paladin's "Vengeful Aura" doesn't give Melee +1, but still gives Piercing +2 so might still be worthwhile against heavily armored (but non-Resilient) targets
- Aquatic creatures in Shallow Sea, and other terrain-related bonuses (but has no effect on Melee -X...)
- [mwcard=MW1J06] Gate to Hell[/mwcard] and [mwcard=MWSTX2FFQ02] Bloodfire Helmet[/mwcard] wouldn't give Melee +1 to demons
- I can't remember its name, but there's an Academy demon that gets Melee +X where X is the number of enemy creatures in its zone. Well, not with this Altar in play!

But has no effect on:
- Arraxian Crown Warlock's "Blood Reaper" (since it gains Bloodthirsty +2)
- Necromancer's "Eternal Servant" (Piercing +1)
- Adramelech Warlock's "Smoldering Curses" ability (since enemy creatures gain Flame +1)
- Interestingly, unlike the "Wounded Prey" ability, [mwcard=MW1E27]Marked for Death[/mwcard] doesn't have anything to do with Melee +X
- Lightning Raptor still charges up as normal

It would appear that demons generally don't like Altar of Infernia (unless going with one or a few select buddies), while zombies are generally unaffected (aside from [mwcard=DNC12] Shaggoth-Zora[/mwcard] due to the Codex wording of Growth markers, and [mwcard=DNQ03] Deathshroud Staff[/mwcard], which is already kind of expensive for what it does)

Given Boocheck is a playtester, he has inside info... so I'm guessing he's hinting that you might have missed a spell or two. I haven't received mine yet, but I'll be sure to confirm or recommend an amendment to the list when my copies arrive.

*edit* The number of copies listed add up to 108, which is consistent with retailer statements and info on BGG, etc., so unless that info is incorrect, there doesn't seem to be a discrepancy with the count. Unless something got added (or swapped) after the retailer info was released (which was probably in spring 2016).

Or maybe there are some non-spell cards in the pack. For example, is there a errata Wizard ability card included?

That is a complete list of spells. Not sure what spell Boocheck is eluding to.

Fact that i am a playtester doesnt mean that i cannot be idiot at the same time ;) :D

I apologize for any possible confusion. I didnt absorb that there are more than one spell mentioned on a one line hence i was counting odd number of spells in this set.

Picked up the Lost Grimoire last night at the store. It looks to me like mine might have been packed incorrectly> Each sealed deck inside was identical. So it came looking like this.
