Thank you! Hearing this means much to me.

I’d love to be able to visit Gen Con one day. Sadly, as a student with no money, this will take a few years …

Good luck with your tournaments and have fun!

We even had 30 participants (two more on day 2).

Its pretty common in our tournaments to see the Wizard not that often in our official German tournaments. Last year at the championship (16 participants) we had zero Wizards. That could be partly because of a possibly different metagame in Germany, partly because its simply not true that the Wizard is much stronger than the other mages and maybe partly because the players think it’s too boring to play the Wizards if everybody in the forums tell that he’s too strong. The wizards played where in the lower ranks on both days (in difference to the Druids, even though there were only 4, the leading two players on day one both played druid).

And yes, two decks with different Mages is challenging. But a true German Champion has to prove that he can win with different decks! ;)

But currently how it’s worded on the card, it would work, or am I wrong in my understanding of the card text?

Rules Discussion / Rouse the Beast in Team Games
« on: June 13, 2016, 01:44:41 PM »
I was asked an interesting question during the Mage Wars Team Battles:

Is it possible to target the same creature multiple times in the same round with [mwcard=MW1I23]Rouse the Beast[/mwcard] in team games through multiple mages of the same team?

This of course isn’t intended with this card, but per wording I had to say yes. The card reads “you” can’t target a creature multiple times, but in my understanding, “you” is a single player in team games. Would the card say “A creature can’t be targeted multiple times per round”, this wouldn’t be possible, but “you can only cast this one time per round on the same creature” actually would allow this.

Thoughts?

In the meantime, maybe we should make other language editions of Mage Wars available on OCTGN. That way we can more easily encourage members of other Mage Wars forums to play online.

There is a German card pack for Mage Wars :)

But everything except the card images is still English.

I see you're the swiss MW ambasador!
Reicht dein Einfluss die weiter, westliche französichsprachige Genf?
... And do you know why the shops here can't get AW's products in a normal time, for a normal price?

My focus is the German speaking part of Europe, i.e. mostly Germany and the Zurich area. But if you’d like, feel free to fill out the Ambassador Application form on the AW website – would be great to have other Ambassadors in Switzerland! Also, feel free to enter the Mage Wars Switzerland facebook group and spread the word about it—it would be great to connect players from Switzerland irregardless of the language.

Also, I’m planning on doing a Swiss Mage Wars championship—help from Geneva to make this a true Swiss championship (and not just a Zurich championship) would be very welcome. :) You can find my email address below in the signature.

"the scene in europe isn't dying, there never was one" The german speeking part is growing a lot

If you want hard numbers for this for the German speaking part (Germany, Austria, Switzerland):

2014, half a year after Mage Wars came out, we had our first official Mage Wars tournament with 6 participants.
2015 we had our first German Championship with 16 participants.
2016, with 1 month to go for the German Championship, we are already at over 30 registered participants and I keep getting asked every few days if there are still available spots for the tournament (they are!).

As this is our official German National Champonship, we’d like to give the players preferring the German cards the same possibilities as the players with English cards. It’s less about restricting the card pool but more about that I personally like allowing Non-German cards too.
