Probably start with naiya and shallow sea on turn 1.  i havent put a whole lot of thought into where it goes from there. 

I realize the songs and bloodthirsty are pointless against a necromancers creatures but this is my starting point.

EDIT:

The overall strategy of my book was to
T1: 20 mana - move 1 graveyard in center and qc wispwillow amulet
T2: 14 mana – deploy crawler, move back to starting corner to cast cloak of shadows and death ring qc
T3: 11 mana – deploy venomous, cast minion
T4: 11 mana - idol of pestilence, nullify on myself
T5: deploy minon, leather, curse if able or another leather

I did this every game I played and from there I would deploy an archer to fight from a distance and keep my mage out of the way.  I never ran my mage into the fight, I sat back with the cloak and if the opponent closed the distance I used a tanglevine and ran away. From then my zombies did the work for me and the attention was taken off me.  I started with the crawler because I wanted to have a creature out asap and he would either eat up an attack spell or waste a creature’s action.  The idol was dropped so soon so that the blood thirsty would trigger and it would also draw my opponents closer to my graveyard and then the zombies were just that much closer. 

Consecrated ground was in here because I needed a terrain card with PvS being legal in the tournament.  If I faced a siren I wanted to get rid of the shallow sea/whirlpool.  If I faced a holy mage I wanted to get rid of the consecrated ground. 

Knockdown is a swing card – knock down a flyer to tanglevine it, knockdown a guard to get an attack in.  It can help get that extra damage in when it seems there is no way too. 

2 seeking dispels is an auto include now in almost all of my books now, except warlord.  If an opponent is planning their next turn or even 2-3 turns around this one card and you ruin their plan with a quick cast and proceed to do everything you wanted…heck yeah!

Walls, walls, walls…2 is good but 3 would be amazing! These cards saved me so many times.  When an opponent would get close and I was out of tanglevines I would throw up a wall. Then I would use the grey wraith to teleport though the wall and get a hit on my opponent.  A wall can save your skin in a crucial moment. 

I only ran agony and arc lighting to deal with a forcemaster if I ran into one.  I never cast agony and I only cast arc lightning twice the whole tournament.  There are both nice cards but are only used on an as needed basis.

 Mend is a very useful spell and is only 1 sbp for the necromancer – well for anyone but that is really nice for a dark mage :)

If I ever had a free action/qc and only 2 -3 mana to spend I always dropped nullify on myself. This was to prevent a dissolve on the cloak or teleport that would drop me into a death pit of enemy creatures.

Rules Discussion / Mhegedden and defend

Mhegedden states that while seal tokens are on him he may not take any actions.
Can my mage cast defend on him and place a guard marker on him that way since mheg is not using his own action to guard? If so would he even be able to counterstrike - does counterstrike from a guard count as using an action or is ot a "free" action?

If so awesome and if not then he could be used to soak up an attack if your mage or another creatire is in his zone and just not counterstrike.

Rules Discussion / Corrode dot?

If you have an extra corrode that deals 1 dmg, is it a 1 time thing or dot? The rules just say deal 1 damge not deal 1 damage each upkeep, from what i found?

If a guard is pushed into a wall does he lose his guard and if they have a defense can they dodge or is that only if there is a gamage barrier or passage attack?

Firefist brawler says it deals a burn when you roll critical damage not deals critical dmg. Do you have to deal the critical dmg or just roll it?

Rules Discussion / Demonic link

So i am working on a demon book and the academy card demonic link caught my eye. It says warlock only, so it can only go in a warlock deck, but if a forcemaster mind controls the demon does the forcemaster still heal 1 dmg or is the enchantment destroyed since a warlock is no longer in control of that creature?

The spell says the controller heals 1 but does the warlock only apply to controlling the enchantment as well?

Off topic / Storage for mage wars markers

If anyone doesnt have a storage box for mage wars tokens and there is a michaels craft store near you this is a good option. You may be able.to find it at walmart but idk.

It is a.storage box (plano box?) With adjustable compartments. It was $10.00 but michaels always has a 40% off coupon you can print or pull up on ypur phone so it was 6.
But i have 1 of every set so far, except academy priestess, plus extra action markers and it holds everything fine; even the academy dials. Just wanted to share if anyone hasnt tried this yet.

Rules Discussion / essence drain and eternal servant

i played a game against a wizard today and he used essence drains on my brutes.  is it possible to reanimate the eternal servant that is destroyed during upkeep if i decide to not pay the upkeep cost.  i ask because i am not sure how summoning during the upkeep works? if so, it would negate the essence drain card, it is destroyed, and i can get the servant back.

any insight?

so the ballad of courage card says that the creature cannot be hindered. Online it says even by conjurations.  Does this apply to the druids pesky vines? If so, that would be glorious!

also, if a creature is slowed by enfeeble, for 2 turns is enfeeble negated while the ballad of courage is on?

I also like that it targets a creature so skellies and zombos are open to this too. :) although 4 points is a little pricy for the necro for a spell to last 2 turns.

t1 : mana crystal, brace yourself or death ring (most likely by)
t2: skeletal knight, leather

from there use libro or drop the idol.  I dont plan on getting close to the enemy mage so i only packed 1 dissolve. renewing rain is for if 2 or more zombies have burns on them.  retaliate is there to throw on a brute and I believe the counterstrike will still trigger the bloodthirsty +2 :)
I'm still on edge about armor ward, but we'll see how it goes. the plan is to arcane ward it.  I dont have a battle forge because I want to crank out as many high level, high threat, creatures as possible early on. which is why the libro comes out later. 
the vampire is to deal with flyers and if there are too many then gravikor.

So I was just having some fun building a fire wizard, because I never see them played, and this is what I came up with.  I have not tested this out yet so I'm not sure how viable it is but it seems like a pretty fun concept!

I wanted to throw the angel slayer in but he is too expensive, at least for this.  and the fire elemental is not in here because everyone runs 1-2 urging waves and the occasional force hammer :b

The only thing I think I really want to add at some point will be healing spells, at least a minor heal and a mend or something to that effect?

Has anyone had any success with arcane ward in arena? Either on equipment or on a creature as a cheap nullify?

Also, same with exile to get a pet or holy avenger out of the way for a few turns?

If this was mentioned before my apologies. But if a force wave pushes all creatures 1 zone away to a hellfire/ teleport trap, a spike pit, or any others do they all get affected by it or just 1 creature in the lot?
