Rules Discussion / Flying defenders and restrained trait
« on: April 13, 2014, 03:30:35 PM »
Hi,

Flying creatures that defend lose their flying trait temporarily.
When defending they can be a target for Tanglevine and other spells which normally can't attack flying creatues?

Mathias

Added (still about creatures with Flying):
With Maim wings it is clear the flyer is ultimately not able to fly.
When being bashed it is temporarily subject to Tangelvine etc...

Player Feedback and Suggestions / Re: booster suggestion
« on: April 11, 2014, 03:46:19 AM »
Hello guys,

I understand your problem and experience the same. But keep in mind this is a problem of luxuary.

As stated before, AW first has to work on extending their sales points. They are only present in a small part of America.
On the European market, Germany is somewhat the most important market.
Luckily Germany has picked it up, but Pegasus messed up big times with the lay-out of the box imo.
Because Germany runs a German version, AW doesn't profit in any way.
And on Spiel 2013 they (Pegasus) messed up again big times for product placement. I had to look very hard to find the game.

And as I was afraid: A German copy costs €50 and the English version €60.
Druid vs Necro: German €25 - English €40.
And this fact is very frustrating for starting companies.
On the other hand "Proudly made in the USA" comes with a pricetag.
Plus artist don't work for free, and they do a good job :)

Getting the booster system starting is quite easy theoretical speaking. Pick sets of 55 cards and put them
in a standard poker-box and throw them on the internet.
In reality AW has a lot of hard choises:

1) They have to invest money in stock. Don't be fooled - you don't get rich from running a card game that easily. So you don't want to invest your last penny in stock.

2) Which cards to pick? No matter how hard they try, there will always one costumer who will be unsatisfied by the selection.

3) How to sell them? If AW only offers them through their online store, shopkeepers will be nagging.
4) If the boosters have to reach shopkeepers, costumers will be nagging because of the steep price.
(Shopkeepers also want to earn money for a living.)

So if you really want to build your 6th deck, do AW a favor. Buy another of their Core Set in your local gameshop. This way everybody will benefit :)

About the kickstart-proposal. Shopkeepers hate it. And that takes us back about expanding your local market.

General Questions / Mohktari Great tree of Life healing effect
« on: August 17, 2013, 03:07:38 AM »
The card reads: All friendly Living creatures in his zone gain Regenerate 2 trait.

Because the card does not read: "As long as the creature stays in this zone"...
I would say the regenerate is permanent?

General Questions / Charm and Hindering
« on: August 17, 2013, 03:04:35 AM »
If a creature is Charmed, does it still hinder my mages her movement?
Since I don't control the monster, I'd say the monster still hinders her.

But why won't that monster let me pass? It feels a little contradictory.

Rules Discussion / Re: Goblin builder and Finite Life on conjurations
« on: March 04, 2013, 03:56:05 PM »
Hi Darth and Gewar

I don't disagree with you. And ofcourse the goblin builder should work that way, adding an useless card would be... useless :p

However, what is the difference between de wording "healing" and "repairing"?
IMO it is 'the act of removing damage' or 'restoring life'.

Consider these sentences:
My mage heals one point of damage. Result, the mage removes one damages.
My building get repaired by one point of damage. Result, one damage will be removed from te building.

If there would ever be a monk who can meditate: e.g. "When meditating, remove three damage counters." How will Finite Life apply in this case? The monk is restoring, but since he is removing damaging he is not healing himselve.

Potatoes - Potatoes :p

Rules Discussion / Goblin builder and Finite Life on conjurations
« on: March 04, 2013, 01:50:15 PM »
Hi all,

From now on you'll depict me as a nitwit, but I mention this for rule consistency.

Rules state that conjurations have the finite life trait thus can not regain health in any way.
If a Goblin Builder may ignore this finite life trait "because his text say so"
then finite life loses all its meaning because minor heal should as well be able to heal anything with
finite life because "the card says it can heal" and thus overrides game rules.

Strategy and Tactics / Re: Idling the Invisible Stalker

Question about the invisibility.

As long as IS is invisble my mage can't play stuff like bear strenght on IS because she can't see him too I guess?

Rules Discussion / Re: Passage Attacks pushes and Wall of Pikes facing

In my opinion you don't have to pay the extra mana to push alongside the 'save' side of the pikes.
No attack is triggered.
