Title: The druid
Post by: Reddicediaries on March 10, 2017, 05:52:12 PM
Druid is one of if not the strongest mage right now. She and necromancer who are the only mages who can be passive with mage actions and still be a threat.
Mind's Eye is the big meta defining card right now. Playing typical druid and sitting back won't work out to well I think. Well lucky for me, I like playing druid aggressively.
Vs some of the new strats
Vs pally
Typical opening although this can change ofc
T1: vine tree face down cheeta speed
T2 reveal cheeta double move and double enchant myself.
T3: deploy lasher move in and attack
Keep the pressure up. Destroy the forge asap.
Vs FM, pretty much do the same. Put enough pressure on so the can't get out more than 1 spore.
I'll update this thread some more after I get some replies

I don't think mind's eye is the one and only meta defining card right now. It is strong for sure, but other builds and tactics are as well.

Besides that I haven't seen an “up to date“ druid deck. It could be I haven't recognized some as such since - besides terrain - the“old“ ones could still work.

I have seen some tests with crabs but nothing strong with a new feel so far.

So I would love to hear some ideas for a modern druid in this thread!

Oh I agree the Druid has always been incredibly strong and with some of the new stuff out she's even better. I've had the itch to make a swamp Druid for a while now. I think cards like Chitin Armor and Waterfall Cloak only add to her already incredible resilient nature.

Best new card for her is probably Meredia's Blessing, though.

One of the drawbacks to the swamp druid is that you'll only have 4 swamp terrain cards, that'll cost 2 points each. so you really won't be able to take over much of the arena. But the vine markers will add to the slowing down of everything else.
