I keep my battle forge away from the center anymore. If my opponent wants to take it out, they need to get closer to my starting corner. To me, it's not worth leaving BF out in the open. I understand the action advantage I would receive if my opponent took out the BF, but the action advantage I get for keeping it is much better. Especially early in a match.

I don't see "doing damage to advance my position in the game" as situational.  It's much more aggressive than other spawnpoints for sure, but it's even less situational in Domination where you are either trying to kill the enemy mage or kill the sslaks in your way.  Either way, doing damage is what you should be doing...why not get mana (and creatures) from it?

It's situational because you might not be in range for an attack and the pentagram doesn't gain its mana. If it doesn't gain its mana, I lose my action. That alone is enough for me to not play it.

All's good on the disagreement. I've learned so much about this game from everyone here and appreciate it greatly. I look at it like we are collectively trying to get better.

I know this isn't a warlock discussion, but I'm going to have to disagree with this particular point here. Sslak's count as enemy creatures, do they not? Even if they don't there are plenty of ways to be aggressive and trigger Pentagram.

This is kind of the problem with pentagram (besides expensive for 9 channeling mages). It requires extra actions to work properly and those actions are situational. Compared to the other spawnpoints, pentagram just isn't worth.

I've noticed that dark mages have it hard in domination. Pentagram isn't worth it and demons are expensive for what they do.  A libro skeletal necro should still work.

Defend can only target living non mage ... so wouldn't work so well with this book.  Other than that, this is a really good domination book,

Nonliving mage just like soldier mage would be hard to get right mechanically.

For note, I originally pushed quite hard to make the Warlord a Soldier.

That sure would have made their abilities a whole lot better.

I'm 90% sure the next episode will be Arraxian Crown Warlock focused, similar to the way this episode was forcemaster focused except that we go into much greater detail about 2 specific books.

Looking forward to this one. AC warlock has been my main focus for a while now.  It will be interesting to hear your take on the mage.

We wanted a lower cost of entry into the game, and wanted to provide the best value possible.

Except that much of it has no value to me ... I'll probably never buy it, even to get cards for Arena that are not available any other way. (I am actually somewhat offended that I would have to buy extra content for another version of the game that I don't want to get them.)

I look at like I'm getting an arena expansion that also has a very awesome mini game in it.   ;)

Alter of the iron guard works really well for the druid.  Being able to deploy a guarding plant can mess with anyone's plan.

I share you view on the raptors, I'm not sure if I should keep them or not. They are good in rare occasions since they're ranged and therefore my walls wont punish them as much as other creatures + they give corrode if I'm out of acid balls or dissolves. But I don't really see what I should replace them with if that's the case. I know a few curse spells would be nice to've or maybe another mage wand but that's about it.

I would suggest replacing the raptor with Oscuda.  Oscuda and hawkeye give a 3 dice unavoidable, critical, and a 50% chance to daze attack.

Just a couple of suggestions. I hope this helps.
