Title: Adramelech's Torment
Post by: Kelanen on April 02, 2016, 04:47:21 PM
Does Adramelech's Torment require the Mage to have LoS it's target? There's no range, and thus I've assumed no LOS required, but no I'm wondering...

If it needs a "target" , it needs LOS.

For example, effects like [mwcard=MW1E11]Divine Intervention[/mwcard] or [mwcard=MW1C05]Blue Gremlin[/mwcard] don't need LOS.

So, in short, yes.  [mwcard=MWSTX2FFQ01]Adramelech's Torment[/mwcard] requires Line of Sight because it specifically says "target creature".

Anytime you see the word "target" in card text, like in Adramelech's Torment, LoS is a requirement for targeting. For this spell there is no range limiter.

All being MtG players, we had exactly this debate (knowing that in MtG and similar games, there's a world of difference between 'targeting' a creature and say 'choosing' or 'selecting' a creature). However 'Target isn't a keyword ability in the rulebook (even v4).

What I didn't find in the game was the Targeting section on p15 of the full Rules and Codex document, which effectively makes it so (or at least a defined game term) - it's clear there.

Thanks!

Don't worry. I don't ban people for honest criticism.

One also has to admit that such a game attracts some seriously high-level nerds and number-crunchers - they will certainly find sth. Always.  8)
