Dear community,

I just wanted  to present to you my new youtube channel. It is about Mage Wars. It is in Spanish.

"Crónica del dado rojo"

After the recent release in Spanish of the Mage Wars arena edition, and after years of lurking in the forums, I thought it would be a good time to pay back to the world community by generating content and by promoting the game in a language that still has not seen much of it.

The main objective is to promote love for the game. For the time being I am focusing on beginner level videos and miscelaneous contents.

Please come in, have a look, subscribe, and do say hi or leave suggestions (even if in another language).
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNs2ZTPvWGSdSzDswJpMddw

I hope you like it!

Arx

PS- by the way, thank you goes to reddicediaries as his nickname inspired the name of the channel. ;)

Unfortunately, nothing happened in the UK.  :-[
I was there, ready to enter the arena, but nobody wanted to enter it with me! I was surprised... disappointed... I was hoping for a nice tourney (3rd biggest gaming con in the world, according to the organizers) but it simply was not possible.
I did not even manage to put together some casual games...
I don´t know what to say. Maybe the organizers/ambassadors have more info to share.
Next year I´d rather hit it in Germany...  ;)

Hello to whoever knows more than I do about this tourney!

Dates are approaching fast and, based on the lack of action around this event (both in the forum and in the UKgame expo website), all indicates that this tourney is not going to materialize.  :-\ I also see that the ambassador that posted this, has not been in the forum since his post above... ::)

Does anyone in the forum know how to contact this ambassador (Chris Brett)? I just would like to get his views on this...
Thanks for any signs!

Question: Will there be any casual play opportunities during the UKGE17?

Thanks for the reply! I am no yoda expert at all.
I actually took it from an online yoda translator. http://www.yodaspeak.co.uk/index.php
Maybe because this yoda is from the UK, he has different usage of the language...  ;)

Parckdeck's necro beats Arxiducs' priest in an arena swamped with creatures.... A timely teleport kidnapping the mage from the safe zone served to feed the brutes some mage flesh... fun match to play! tks Parkey!

General Discussion / Re: 1st Edition help

With kids depends greatly on their age, but arena and academy both worked just fine at home. Mine is now 9 y.o. but been playing since 6.
A softer version tends to suit our schedules better. Not because he does not like arena (loves it), but because time in real life tends to be limited to play like this together. Academy is quicker and easier to bring to the table. Lately we play mostly academy for this reason. He seems to enjoy exactly the same without so many mechanics and without movement.
My advice would be to tray both modes of play. No need to buy anything. Just download the rules for academy, pick the low level creatures (and the scary ones, depending on the age) from the core set and enjoy!

Custom Cards / Re: custom cards: Infectious Rat,...

Can see your are a prolific card creator!  ;) Keep them coming!
Love the concept of the soul reaper. gain life for killing! maybe down size the power and price to see it more on the tables.
The hour glass is totally overpower in my opinion. Initiative is sooooo important at some point in most of the games that feels kind of difficult to implement.

If you end up doing that you will deserve the nickname "the roving mage warrior" !  ;D

Thanks for the post. Very interesting stats!
It seems like the dark side is a successful one in your league!  ;)
Wish your group of play a long and healthy life!
Enjoy! ;D

Great initiative! Looking forward to know more!  :D
Please consider sharing here the winning or most original spellbooks in your league. I suppose you are playing with the core set (only) for the moment, but it will be interesting to learn more about the meta in Madrid.
Gracias!
